Here’s a quick tip that can save you money if you head to any resorts that belong to the Seibu group. Loyalty point systems are very popular in Japan, and usually work as cashback. You pay 110 yen, and earn 1-3 points. Each point is worth 1 yen again. So you get 1-3% cashback. But the true savings tip is the ski lift tickets discount. Seibu group operates at least these famous resorts:
- Furano - some of the best powder in Japan
- Naeba - big ski-in/ski-out hotel
- Kagura - one of the longest seasons in Japan
- Karuizawa Prince Hotel - high quality artificial snow and early season
- Shiga Kogen - high elevation and long season
And each of them offer discount for day tickets. Most of the places offer web bookings with similar discount, but then you miss out on the points.
For example Furano ticket price:
- ¥8,000 regular price
- ¥6,600 Prince Club discount
Worth mentioning that Seibu usually has free lift tickets for kids 12 years and younger. Staying in Prince hotels also earns you points that you can use to further discount your lift tickets.
